Our staff not only enjoys outstanding benefits and professional growth opportunities, but also an environment noted for diversity, community involvement, intellectual excitement, artistic pursuits, and natural beauty.<BR><BR>Harborview Medical Center has an outstanding opportunity available for a Research Scientist to conduct epidemiologic analyses undertaken as part of collaborations between the University of Washington and the Public Health - Seattle & King County HIV/STD Program. <BR><BR>Primary Duties and Responsibilities:<BR><BR>* Produce analysis reports of HIV/STD program data for the purpose of monitoring epidemiologic trends, programmatic activities and quality assurance<BR><BR>* Interact with federal and off-site investigators and public health officials to coordinate data collection, monitoring and pooling for multicenter projects and national surveillance efforts.<BR><BR>* Assist in epidemiologic study design<BR><BR>* Help coordinate data sharing with researchers and other epidemiologists in the HIV/STD program<BR><BR>* Access and integrate data from different data systems, including matching data records.<BR><BR>* Evaluate and help modify existing databases to accommodate system changes.<BR><BR>* Monitor data quality<BR><BR>* Assist in the preparation of grant applications<BR><BR>* Assist in and lead the preparation of manuscripts for publication<BR><BR>* Work with STD investigators to assure compliance with IRB and research review standards <BR><BR>This position provides opportunitiesto work in a fast-paced, challenging, diverse and rewarding environment.
