This position is for a person highly experienced with MEG technology who can advance both methods and technology in this still-developing field. This position will create new approaches for complex issues related to the technology and analysis of data. This person will serve as the technical specialist for the Center in the application of advanced theories, concepts, and processes related to MEG hardware and data analysis. <BR><BR>Responsibilities<BR>Develop advances to existing technology and methods for application to work conducted at the I-LABS MEG Brain Imaging Center; these advances will impact the entire field of magnetoencephalography. The person in this position will, with knowledge of Center research emphases and needs, conduct research that moves beyond the current limitations of technology, and develop novel solutions that address long standing issues in the field concerning source localization, noise cancellation and head modeling. Additional work may include improvements to MEG-MRI (magnetic resonance imaging) data integration, MEG-EEG data integration, and the relation of these methods to other neuro-imaging technologies, e.g. fMRI.<BR><BR>Lead to or contribute to novel inventions, patents, designs or techniques that are significant in advancing MEG technology. These advances will be applied to work conducted at the Center and lead to dialogue and engagement with colleagues nationally and internationally.<BR><BR>Serve as the staff technical resource at the I-LABS MEG Brain Imaging Center by staying abreast of and evaluating technical methods and developments happening worldwide, and will recommend changes in Center emphases and techniques as warranted by the new information. <BR><BR>Contributions made by this position will be instrumental in generating new research projects, and acquiring new research funding.
