Not only does the company build and/or operate hundreds of the top web properties, it also produces software for all types of networks and devices. Among the over 500 web properties and hundreds of stand-alone applications are some of the most innovative and intriguing new technologies in the world, including the Kindle, mobile applications for all major platforms, and all manner of cloud computing web services.<BR>An integral part of securing these technologies is to understand and verify the risks inherent in them. Therefore, we are searching for world-class security engineers to engage in offensive security testing - penetration testing, of everything Amazon builds and operates. If you want a get-out-of-jail-free? card to attack some of the most exciting technologies available today, you need to talk to us.<BR><BR>Duties<BR><BR>* Work with the rest of the team to assess the overall offerings by Amazon and all its subsidiaries and develop a plan for test priorities, a schedule, and implementation plan<BR>* Anticipate and understand threats to Amazon''s business at large and build a plan to verify and document those threats.<BR>* Build and/or acquire tools to enable penetration testing of all services and offerings by Amazon.<BR>* Develop a familiarity with new tools in the security testing space and identify opportunities for Amazon to leverage those tools. Generally act as the company expert on security testing.<BR>* Independently plan and execute safe penetration tests that maximize the learning opportunity and value of those tests without putting the business at risk.<BR>* Document findings from tests in reports to VPs, along with proposed remediation plans.<BR>* Work with VPs, Directors, and Development Managers to prioritize and execute remediation plans.<BR>* Conduct offensive testing in support of Amazon?s regulatory compliance efforts.<BR>* Develop innovative solutions to both implementation and architectural problems that cause security issues.<BR>* Conduct source code and design reviews as needed<BR>Basic Qualifications<BR>Ideal candidates will have very strong software engineering skills, exceptional security skills, and a tester mindset. The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to exploit security vulnerabilities of several kinds. A passion for risk management is a must as is the ability to prioritize, execute, and follow up on work. In addition, the candidate should have experience documenting problems found, and the ability develop an appropriate remediation plan. Low level kernel development and debugging skills is a strong plus.<BR><BR>Preferred Qualifications<BR>* </font></td>
