Our systems power multiple high-growth advertising businesses at Amazon, including Display Ads and Product Ads. We serve and respond to hundreds of billions of requests annually, and have ambitions to grow that number several orders of magnitude, while maintaining response latencies in the milliseconds and meeting strict SLA requirements. We delight in data, and are constantly trying to enrich our models and make more informed decisions using every bit and byte we have. Our current systems serve our current needs, but we are growing a new business within Amazon.com, and are looking for exceptional developers who can design and build the systems that will take us into the future.<BR><BR>As a key team member of the Application and Web Services Team, you will be building highly scalable and robust services and systems, some running on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure. These services are currently used internally but will ultimately be utilized by external customers as well and include web services, databases, and UI/portals. You will have the opportunity to own major deliverables and all aspects of the development cycle: scoping, design, implementation, and testing. You will be encouraged to exercise your judgment in proactively determining and recommending the best features and designs based on business objective, timeline, and resource constraints.<BR>Basic Qualifications<BR><BR>* Bachelors in Computer Science or related field<BR>* 3+ years of experience in software development and full product life-cycles<BR>* Coding skills in Java and/or C++ coupled with strong base in object-oriented design and development<BR>Preferred Qualifications<BR><BR>* 5+ years of experience in software development and full product life-cycles<BR>* 1+ year of MySql or similar database experience<BR>* Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive<BR>* Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing for performance, scalability, and availability<BR>* Experience with UI frameworks such as Spring MVC, GWT, jQuery, Swing, etc.<BR>* Experience with Amazon Web Services                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 </font></td>
