Amazon is looking for an action-oriented individual to oversee daily operations within the Global Security Control Center. This individual will triage, escalate, and manage responses to all events impacting or threatening Amazon.com personnel, property, or assets. The manager will be the senior decision-making authority within the center, and will help identify, assess and coordinate the communication and response to security related incidents and crisis that may impact our company and its Associates. This includes situational awareness, resiliency, and crisis management operations.<BR>Using proprietary and commercially available sources of information and software, the Shift Manager will monitor risks that could negatively affect Amazon sites worldwide including weather, natural and man-made disasters, and political unrest. The manager will take the lead in coordinating responses to work place violence and other security or exigent incidents. This role will also monitor internal and external systems (internet, news-feeds, and other data sources) to identify, assess, and manage communications to team members, regional leaders, affected organizations (external or internal) and stakeholders throughout the incident life-cycle. The Shift Manager will take managerial ownership of their shift and be responsible for ensuring performance SLAs are met, that responses are appropriate according to policies and procedures, and for developing and motivating a high performing staff. The GSCC is a 24/7 operation and shift work will be required potentially to include nights and weekends.<BR>The successful candidate must have a proven record of effective leadership capabilities, be innovative and creative when working to solve problems, and demonstrate good judgment while under pressure. They will also be able to operate autonomously, use discretion when dealing with sensitive information, and apply sound business principles and data analysis to identify problems and initiate actions to address them.<BR>Basic Qualifications<BR><BR>* Bachelor?s Degree in a related subject (Communications, Criminal Justice, Political Science, etc.).<BR>* 4+ years of working in a security or emergency operations center<BR>* 2+ years in a leadership role<BR>* Track record of creative problem solving, and the desire to create and build new processes<BR>* Completed Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited university<BR>* Strong time management and multitasking skills as well as attention to detail<BR>* Excellent written and verbal communication skills with abi </font></td>
