Join us, and find out how many ways Virginia Mason offers you the chance to focus on what really matters-our patients.<BR><BR>POSITION: SQL Server Database Administrator<BR><BR>WORK LOCATION: Seattle, WA<BR><BR>JOB DUTIES:<BR>?Conduct research and design approved new implementations, upgrades and modifications of MS SQL database systems to meet organizational and departmental business requirements.<BR><BR>?Consult with end-users and/or other IS teams to define performance, availability, security, and recovery objectives that meet business needs; offers hardware and SQL version recommendations and solutions; provides quotations.<BR><BR>?Engage in proactive monitoring and analysis of MS SQL database systems to ensure systems meet availability, performance and recovery criteria.<BR><BR>?Initiate security measures when appropriate.<BR><BR>?Manage high availability options such as clustering and log shipping.<BR><BR>?Provide expert level production support of existing Microsoft SQL Server systems.<BR><BR>?Give technical input to project management plans ensuring technical scope, time and budget are accurately captured to successfully deliver authorized Information Systems projects.<BR><BR>?Perform technical project tasks as assigned.<BR><BR>?Provide technical mentoring and guidance on MS SQL and SQL Development for other IS team members.<BR><BR>?Document new and modified systems for use by IS team members.<BR><BR>?Test disaster recovery procedures for patient critical Microsoft SQL Servers.<BR><BR>Required Qualifications:<BR>?Bachelor''s degree in computer science or a related field plus six years of experience as a database administrator (or related) supporting Microsoft SQL Server.<BR><BR>?One year of experience supporting Microsoft Amalga Unified Intelligence System.<BR><BR>?Six years of experience scripting and automating some aspect of MS SQL Server production support.<BR><BR>?Six years of experience producing system documentation, including writing requirements, test plans, and recovery documentation.<BR><BR>?Experience may be gained concurrently.<BR><BR>Just as Virginia Mason is dedicated to improving the lives of our patients and our community, we a                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     </font></td>
