<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Requisition ID 10688BR<BR>Title SR ASSOCIATE SCIENTIST<BR>Job Category Research & Development<BR>Job Description PURPOSE:<BR>To provide expertise and execute laboratory research strategies in support of multiple projects aimed at the identification and early research on novel therapeutics for the control of autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. To provide scientific innovation relevant to research programs and technologies.<BR><BR>RELATIONSHIPS:<BR>Reports to onsite research scientists. Internal relationships also include accountability to the Department Head and helping supervise laboratory staff.<BR><BR>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<BR>Project Team Liaison:<BR>- Achieve business goals, share learnings, knowledge and skills and promote cross-functional teamwork.<BR>- Bring science driven innovation to the targeted Discovery area.<BR>- Develop and manage research protocols in support of multiple drug discovery efforts.<BR>- Draft reports and prepare presentation slides.<BR>- Establish target area driven biopharmaceutical target identification and validation.<BR>- Interpret and properly document experimental data<BR>- Interpret and properly document experimental data.<BR>- Supervision and training of technical staff.<BR><BR>Scientific Support for other company activities:<BR>- Interact with the biopharmaceutical organization. Ensure endorsement and visibility of the assigned area.<BR>- Provide internal education and ongoing scientific support throughout the organization.<BR><BR>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<BR>Approximately 10% overnight travel required.<BR><BR>KEY SUCCESS FACTORS: EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS<BR>A B.S. with 8 years or M.S. with 4 years of relevant experience from basic research or the pharmaceutical industry required. Incumbent could also be a PhD with at least 2 years of relevant experience required.<BR>Advanced scientific skills required.<BR>An excellent written and oral communication skills required.<BR>An experience in working with the signal transduction pathways involved in chronic inflammation highly preferred.<BR>Experience in the supervision and training of technical staff preferred.<BR>Expert knowledge of the pathways involved in inflammation highly preferred.<BR>Flexibility and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment are required.<BR>Prior research or related experience in the field (e.g. research in the area of biopharmaceutical discovery and knowledge of the assigned therapeutic area) highly preferred.<BR>Department NNIRC - TARGET DISCOVERY & VALIDATION<BR>Position Location US - Seattle, WA<BR>City Seattle<BR>State/Provinces US - WA<BR>Degree Required Bachelor''s Degree Required<BR>Percent Travel 0 - 10% </font></td>
