Are you equally comfortable digging into business requirements and product planning, as drilling into technical architecture and design? Amazon?s retail catalog team is looking for a Senior Technical Program Manager for the newly formed catalog product compliance and data quality team. The charter of the team involves building new tools to identify potential compliance issues based on the data in the catalog and program managing the tools for compliance across Retail, 3P, Operations and Legal. By ensuring that there are no products listed on the website that violate regulatory guidelines, the software and processes built by this team are a critical component of building a catalog that our customers trust. The team will need to build Amazon scale web applications running on distributed systems that both leverage and create new technologies to process large volumes of data that derive patterns and conclusions from the data. The technology components will include large scale databases (both relational and non-relational), data mining, rules engines, workflow systems and machine learning algorithms.<BR><BR>A successful candidate will need to have great software definition and detailed functional specification writing skills, excellent problem solving and project management skills, great communication skills, and a passion for technology and building world-class software. As a TPM, you will lead the team by: building the product roadmap by balancing business needs versus technical constraints, taking large, complex projects and breaking them down into manageable pieces, developing functional specifications, anticipating and make tradeoffs, managing communication with business owners and partner technical teams, working with engineers and leaders to set technical direction, overseeing high-level process and software design, coordinating projects and resources and most importantly delivering results.<BR><BR><BR>RetailSystemsJobs<BR>Basic Qualifications<BR><BR>* Bachelor''s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field; or MBA degree<BR>* 5+ years of experience in project, program, and/or product management.<BR>* 1+ years of coding experience in Java, C++, C#<BR>* Relational and UML modeling<BR>* A deep understanding of distributed and service-oriented architectures.
