As a Research Scientist on this team you will be on the leading edge of understanding how quality of information within Amazon?s catalog affects our customers and help devise short term and long term strategy for improving it. You will have the ability to influence how millions of customers discover and shop for products at Amazon.<BR>Some problem spaces we?ll be working on together:<BR><BR>Measuring Data Quality Impact: Quantify business impact of data quality improvement efforts. Given that a product?s performance (ex: sales) depends on several factors like price fluctuations, seasonality, product promotions, it?s not an easy undertaking to splice the exact impact of data quality improvement efforts.<BR><BR>Predicting High Data Quality Indicators: By correlating past user behavior determining good data quality standards that will improve customer experience going forward. (Ex: what is a good title for this product?? or what features are critical for this type of product??)<BR><BR>Designing Auditing Strategies: Understand how we can leverage human auditors/mechanical turkers to audit a sample of products for data quality in the most efficient manner.<BR><BR>Major responsibilities:<BR><BR>* Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of Amazon?s historical business data to help automate and optimize key features and processes. Design and implement scalable and repeatable solutions along the way.<BR>* Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses, model development, model validation and model implementation.<BR>* Work closely with software engineering teams to drive new feature creation. Lead off with creating prototypes or design ideas as applicable.<BR>* Proactively monitor and analyze complex systems to understand, diagnose and continuously improve business and operation parameters.
