               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Technical Accounting Manager<BR>Location: Washington - Seattle<BR>Job Code: 2760<BR>FLSA Status: Exempt<BR>Employment Duration: Full Time<BR><BR><BR>Description<BR><BR>POSITION SUMMARY:<BR>The Technical Accounting Manager is responsible for developing accounting policies for HomeStreet Bank, continually monitoring these policies, and managing related work with external service providers and auditors. He/She will monitor emerging GAAP in order to help management understand the potential impacts; facilitate the implementation of new GAAP. Additionally, Technical Accounting Manager will develop position papers for technical accounting matters that arise throughout the Company. <BR>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<BR>Provide guidance to senior management and across the organization with respect to technical accounting interpretations, and implementation of new guidance.<BR>Lead and perform accounting and financial due diligence on any acquisition, investment and other significant transactions/events.<BR>Serve as technical accounting lead in preparation of SEC filings (1934 Act Filings, etc.).<BR>Work with external service providers and auditors on technical accounting matters.<BR>Lead cross functional work groups to ensure implementation of policies.<BR>Teach, coach and supervise internal staff assisting on GAAP matters.<BR>Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.<BR>QUALIFICATIONS:<BR>BA or BS degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited educational institution is required. <BR>CPA certification preferred.<BR>Five to ten years of progressively responsiblerelevant work experience in Accounting or Finance focused on technical accounting issues either in a publicly traded company or in a Big 4 public accounting firm serving public clients.<BR>Strong command of current generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).<BR>(IFRS) knowledge is a plus.<BR>Experience in banking industry strongly preferred.<BR>Strong knowledge of all aspects of US GAAP and SEC technical accounting and reporting requirements.<BR>Ability to effectively present information to various levels of an organization.<BR>Excellent written and verbal skills: ability to write clear and concise reports, business correspondence, procedures and management presentations.<BR>Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to develop and maintain effective and positive open and trusting working relationships with people at all levels of the organization.<BR>Highly organized, accurate and detail-oriented: must possess a big-picture perspective, strong business aptitude and be well versed in efficient processes and procedures. <BR>Good judgment, practical and strong attention to detail and excellent problem solving and analytical skills.<BR>Strong ability to work well in teams and lead projects.<BR>Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations.<BR>Knowledge of SOX Compliance requirements.<BR>HomeStreet Bank is an Equal Opportunity Employer                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 </font></td>
