A Medical reference laboratory serving physicians, hospitals, members of the community, employers, and other allied health professionals is recruiting for a Billing Diagnosis Coding Assistant Supervisor. Duties to include: Assist with supervision of all designated personnel and duties assigned to the Diagnosis Coding team. Including but not limited to: o Oversight of daily workload o Monitoring Diagnosis Coding phone queue daily o Maintenance of policies and procedures o Performing Quality Assurance checks on all employees weekly o Training of existing employees and new hires o Monitoring & maintaining documentation of employee performance o Resolution of personnel issues o Assisting with employee evaluations Provide backup for all tasks as needed, filling in for supervisor and/or employees as needs require. Maintain current knowledge of diagnosis coding, insurance billing, and other billing processes JOB REQUIREMENTS: Two (2) years of experience with Medical Billing/Diagnosis Coding or equivalent; Accurate typing ability, minimum 35 wpm; Ten-key by touch. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be prepared and able to demonstrate the following qualifications at the time of referral: Demonstrated leadership potential, works well with and is respected by fellow employees; Quick learner, good organizational, team working and directional skills; Flexible - can easily adapt to change, willing to perform different tasks as needed. Independent judgment and good reasoning ability; Ability to handle stressful situations in a calm and professional manner Effective written and verbal communication; PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Leadership and/or supervisory experience. Demonstrated abilities as a team-player Previous Diagnosis Coding experience in an outpatient/physician office setting. Medical Terminology. Outpatient Billing Experience. CCS or equivalent. Excel Level II or greater Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access) HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE: 7:00 - 4:00 pm M-F. Near bus route. SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS: Salary depending on experience.
