<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Title: Certified Tumor Registrar - Deaconess Medical Center<BR>Location: WA-Spokane<BR><BR>Summary:Responsible for capturing accurate, timely cancer-related health information for every patient with a diagnosis of malignancy, or with a diagnosis of certain benign CNS diseases and following those patients at least once a year for life. Cases are coded using the rules listed in the FORDS manual, and the<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />AmericanCollegeof Surgeon?s Commission on Cancer data standards and coding instructions. This data is used for oncology research, evaluating the patient?s diagnosis, treatment and outcome, and identifying opportunities for improvement. The data is transmitted regularly to the State Cancer Registry and the National Cancer Database (NCDB) and must meet stringent quality guidelines. The data is utilized locally for special studies, quality assurance, facility planning and marketing.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><BR>Essential Functions:Attention to strict detail with high volume pressure; possess the ability to communicate orally and in writing with physicians, patients, management and co-workers; know all job functions within ODM and be willing to assist other members of the ODM when the need arises; possess the ability to apply analytical thinking skills routinely; possess the ability to operate computers and printers; possess the ability to work independently with minimal supervision; possess the ability to interpret and prepare basic reports from data collected; possess the ability to handle interruptions calmly and with minimal disruption of work process; maintain strict patient confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines<BR><BR><BR><BR>Education:<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><BR>High school diploma; graduation from NCRA approved Certified Tumor Registrar program or healthcare related training that equates to eligibility for CTR certification<BR><BR>Experience: <BR>At least one year?s experience in a Cancer Registry, or two years experience in a medical records department or a physician?s office preferred with knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, and basic computer skills.<BR>Primary Locaiton: WA-Spokane<BR><BR>Organization: Deaconess Medical Center </font></td>
