All clinical tests, including molecular based tests such as PCR, are performed, organized, and handled in accordance with the protocol, quality assurance and safety manuals. The clinical lab analyst will also work to make sure cleaning and maintenance schedules are met.<BR><BR>Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following.<BR><BR>* Perform tests that require a complex network of steps and variables, independent judgment and interpretation.<BR>* Become knowledgeable of and comply with all laboratory and company policies and procedures.<BR>* Demonstrate knowledge of molecular techniques including PCR.<BR>* Demonstrate knowledge of basic laboratory skills, equipment startup, daily maintenance, and shutdown.<BR>* Organize work and set workload priorities by exercising initiative to discern when to assist coworkers or when to engage in other work-related activities.<BR>* Establish work priorities for maximum efficiency in response to STAT tests, workload, and multiple test requests on minimal specimen volume.<BR>* Adhere to Laboratory&rsquo;s Quality Control policies.<BR>* Identify problems, and troubleshoot routine problems independently.<BR>* Recognize non-standard situations and respond according to department policies independently.<BR>* Monitor inventory requirements and take appropriate action.<BR>* Participate in accrediting agency surveys; perform proficiency testing in the same manner as patient samples. Follow up to resolve inaccurate results. <BR>* Assist in training new employees in areas of proven competency, as approved and documented by the laboratory.<BR>* Anticipate and prevent problems by taking corrective actions before crises occur; take appropriate steps to resolve.<BR>* Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory&rsquo;s established performance specifications.<BR>* Recognize and respond to opportunities to improve the quality of service.<BR>* Actively participate in department-specific improvement plans.<BR>* Exhibit ethical behavior and maintain confidentiality of patient results.<BR>* Attend in-service presentations covering a variety of topics.<BR>* Attend mandatory programs and laboratory staff meetings.<BR>Job Requirements :<BR><BR>Education/Experience:<BR>Baccalaureate Degree in a Chemical, Physical, or Biological Science<BR>Take responsibility for own career development; seek out and participate in appropriate continuing education.<BR>Molecular biology experience with PCR and related techniques is preferred.<BR><BR>Desired Skills:<BR>Organized, good communication skills, and can take directions from others.<BR>Ability to learn new techniques.<BR>Skill in dealing with people in a positive and productive manner.<BR>Ability to work extended                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                        </font></td>
