               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Title: Coding Specialist<BR>Location: WA-Spokane<BR>Summary : <BR>Reviews, verifies coding accuracy, codes, abstracts, and coordinates erroneous coding. Requests medical records as needed to support coding and adhere to billing requirements.<BR><BR>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.<BR>* Screens & coordinates corrections on pre-bills to ensure accurate coding<BR>* Assigns diagnostic codes for services/ treatment from health records<BR>* Serves as coding contact and resource for billing office and clinic employees<BR>* Codes denial logs and works with clinic to resolve denials<BR>* Requests medical records as needed for supporting documentation, billing requirements and claim resolution<BR>Education and/or Experience Preferred: <BR>High school diploma or general education degree (GED); Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS-P) certification required and 1 year experience coding with a strong knowledge of insurance billing and coding procedures including ICD9, CPT, AMA and Medicare coding guidelines; or equivalent combination of education and experience.<BR><BR><BR>Language Skills: <BR>Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to physicians, practice managers, clinic staff, and other employees of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate with insurance carrier staff and vendor staff.<BR><BR>Reasoning Ability: <BR>Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
