Local office of a chain pharmacy is recruiting for an Intake Coordinator who is responsible for taking InfuSion Therapy and Home Healtl1 ref sources. Ensures that all intakes forms are complete, clear and within employer Infusion Services' scope of service. Verifies insurance, enters patient demographics into the computer, communicates with other departments regarding status of referrals and notifies patient regarding coverage and payment responsibilities. Accepts incoming Home Health referrals, knowledgeable of the scope of services that employer Infusion and Respiratory can provide, knowledgeable regarding reimbursement issues and which insurance companies employer Respiratory Services has active contracts with. Is able to take complete, accurate intake, maintains and distributes the referral log. Ensures that insurance verification is completed, the referral to a Clinical/Care manager and/or Pharmacist. Ensures that the Clinic Pharmacist receives the referral in a timely fashion. Assists the Clinical/Care Manager with necessary sub-contracting of services. Assists the Clinical/Case Manager with various Case Management duties. JOB REQUIREMENTS: - One to two years' experience in health related field. - High school diploma with one year post high school education. Must be prepared and able to demonstrate the following qualifications at the time of referral: - Demonstrated excellent Medical Terminology skills. - Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Demonstrated ability to learn and understand reimbursement issues and Medicare guideline PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Licensed Practical Nurse. Two years experience in Home Health Care. Working knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid Home Health reimbursement guidelines. HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE: Full-Time/Regular Specific schedule to be discussed at interview. Near public transportation. SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS: Starting wage for this position is $12.00 per hour. Benefits to be discussed at interview.
