Also please dress interview appropriate when requesting a referral.<BR><BR>A well respected law firm on the Spokane`s South Hill assisting clients in many legal areas with an emphasis in business/commercial, litigation, corporate, civil litigation, estate planning/probate, and closing /real property matters is recruiting for a Legal Assistant or Paralegal to join their firm. Will be assigned to one attorney as their legal assistant or paralegal. Duties will include machine transcription, calendaring, file mgmt., drafting documents and pleadings, preparing and funding real estate closings, recording documents and filing pleadings both at the courthouse and electronically in appropriate jurisdictions, and legal research as required and answering the phone for the assigned attorney. Will occasionally provide backup support to other attorneys during staff vacation/sick times or for special projects. <BR><BR><b>JOB REQUIREMENTS:</b><BR>- Must have a minimum of three (3) or more years of law office experience in relevant practice area(s), i.e. exp. in civil litigation, estate planning/probate, and/or real estate matters.<BR>- Must have advanced MS Office skills including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and be proficient with search engines and databases.<BR>- Must have machine transcription experience and able to type 60 + wpm.<BR>- Must understand accounting and bookkeeping concepts and be able to draft settlement statements and balance accounts for client accounts and transactions. <BR>- Must have HS Diploma or GED.<BR><BR><b>Must be prepared and able to demonstrate the following qualifications at the time of referral:</b> <BR>Must have demonstrated excellent grammar and spelling along with time management skills, have demonstrated proficiency in performing miscellaneous online or computer tasks as needed, and being able to prioritize and multi-task. <BR><BR><b>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b><BR>- Preference will be given to those candidates with Spokane/Spokane County Court System experience. <BR>- Previous legal research is a plus.<BR><BR><b>HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE:</b><BR>Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Office is on a bus line. <BR><BR><b>SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS:</b><BR>Wage will depend on experience and qualifications.
