<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Maintain and manipulate metadata representing the library’s information resources primarily in local integrated library system and in bibliographic utility.<BR><BR>Essential Functions:<BR>Under direction of Catalog Librarian, performs copy cataloging for textual monographs and continuing resources using the MARC bibliographic format or a successive bibliographic framework; Anglo American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd ed., rev. and Library of Congress Rule Interpretations, or Rules for Description and Access and the Library of Congress Policy Statements; Library of Congress Subject Headings, Library of Congress Classification; and bibliographic utility standards.<BR><BR>Under direction of Catalog Librarian, performs limited original cataloging for textual monographs and continuing resources using the MARC bibliographic format or a successive bibliographic framework; Anglo American Cataloguing Rules, 2nd ed., rev. and Library of Congress Rule Interpretations, or Rules for Description and Access and the Library of Congress Policy Statements; Library of Congress Subject Headings, Library of Congress Classification; and bibliographic utility standards.<BR><BR>Performs creation and maintenance of metadata in local integrated library system and bibliographic utility, including URLs, serials holdings statements and item records.<BR><BR>Evaluates available bibliographic records for textual monograph or continuing resource library materials for correctness and completeness; completes CIP, and resolves other complex problems as needed.<BR><BR>Assigns LC or LC-like call numbers and LC subject headings as needed.<BR><BR>Routes materials needing further work, including titles with no available bibliographic record, to appropriate personnel.<BR><BR>Resolves problems with bibliographic record choice, call numbers, name and subject headings referred from other staff members.<BR><BR>Assigns LC or LC-like call numbers and LC subject headings as needed.<BR><BR>Determines need for new bibliographic records.<BR><BR>Resolves discrepancies between acquisitions and cataloging records in local integrated library system.<BR><BR>Oversees and supervises student employees performing limited cataloging activities.<BR><BR>Oversees and supervises physical processing of library materials by student employees.<BR><BR>Contributes to departmental goals by participation in meetings, cooperation with others, assisting in planning, and adherence to departmental standards.<BR><BR>Assists in the training of other department members.<BR><BR>Assists in developing and maintaining departmental procedures.<BR><BR>Performs other duties as assigned in support of Gonzaga’s mission.<BR><BR>FOR A FULL POSITION DESCRIPTION AND TO APPLY: please visit our website at www.gonzaga.peopleadmin.com and apply on-line.
