               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">PERFORM DEPARTMENT DUTIES IN A TIMELY AND EFFICIENT MANNER.<BR><BR>(1) Manage all phases of the patient encounter; verify patient’s name, address, phone number and health coverage; direct patients to appropriate Clinic locations as indicated by the schedule.  Have patients fill out appropriate forms related to their appointments.<BR><BR>(2) Open the department on time according to clinic hours.<BR><BR>(3) Give departing patients an appointment card with appropriate information; repeat the date and time of the next appointment, physician’s name and location of appointment. Notify patients and verify time and place for upcoming appointments according to department protocol.<BR><BR>(4) Monitor the outside front lobby area and be ready to assist if patients or visitors encounter difficulties.  Maintain the reception area, and keep the area clean and tidy.<BR><BR>(5) Notify Patient Account Representatives of patient appointments when the scheduling system indicates credit irregularities.<BR><BR>(6) Demonstrate knowledge of MAC computers and Varian EMR and provide computer support to clinical areas. Maintain clinical schedule. <BR><BR>(7) Schedule patient appointments including canceling and rescheduling appointments.  Assist with training as needed.<BR><BR>(8) Revise daily schedules as needed, Notify pharmacy if adding on chemotherapy patients.<BR><BR> (9) Attend departmental meetings and contribute suggestions that will enhance patient satisfaction and/or departmental efficiency.<BR><BR>(10) Handle incoming calls; screen and take appropriate messages, forwarding them to the correct person.<BR><BR>(11) Demonstrate knowledge of physicians’ schedules including on-call days and days out of the office.<BR><BR>(12) Maintain a clean and orderly work area; re-order and maintain adequate inventory of supplies.<BR><BR>(13) Request new patient records for all new patients. <BR><BR>(14) Schedule ancillary appointments at other facilities.<BR><BR>(15) Medical Record duties as assigned</font></td>
