Working Title: Community Indicators Manager
Job Summary/Essential Functions: * Manage the day-to-day operations of the community indicators (CI) projects for the Institute for Public Policy & Economic Analysis
* Provide the indicator-specific analysis for new CI projects
* Provide updated analysis in the maintenance of existing CI web sites
* Write, publish & oversee the distribution of all contract-based CI e-newsletters
Conditions of Employment: Position is located on Eastern's Riverpoint campus.
Local travel in eastern Washington will be required. Candidate must have access to personal vehicle, and must possess a valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
This is an agency shop position.

Term of Appointment: 12 months per year
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 5 hours per day; position may be requested to work additional hours in response to new projects, deadlines, and/or other business needs.

Required Discipline(s) for Degree: Any field; preference for a degree in the social sciences, business or urban/regional planning, or other related field.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree as described above
* One year of relevant experience

* Experience demonstrating ability to synthesize literature on complex social-economic issues
* Experience demonstrating ability to communicate complex topics & statistical results to a lay audience
* Demonstrated strong skills in word processing, spreadsheets & databases
* Experience demonstrating ability to be self-directed and highly organized
* Demonstrated client-friendly demeanor

Preferred Qualifications: QUALIFICATIONS STRONGLY PREFERRED:
* Masters degree in the social sciences, business or urban/regional planning, or health care policy or administration
* Ability to comprehend data from a variety of disciplines and transfer that comprehension into clear prose for the lay person
* Demonstrated ability to remain attentive to detail and affinity for editing and proofing
* Demonstrated ability in design and layout of print and electronic communications
* Experience in Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
