This position is an integral part of the Revenue and Cost of Sales Accounting Team within Itron, Inc. with primary responsibility for hardware revenue recognition/revenue accounting/ revenue and cost of sales accounting processes. The Revenue Manager will establish proactive working relationships with cross-functional organizations, liaising with Sales, Proposals, Sales Order Planning, Legal, Operations, and Financial Planning and Analysis on an ongoing basis. The Revenue Manager will participate in review of contracts for revenue recognition issues, and will track unbilled A/R, revenue, cost of sales, project costs and deferred revenue. This position is responsible for accurate recording of revenue, cost of sales and deferred revenue transactions in compliance with current hardware, software and multi-element revenue recognition accounting guidance. Design and maintain operational procedures and processes that meet US GAAP audit standards, improve efficiency and ensure accurate reporting of accounting data. Participate in quarterly reviews and annual audit with internal and external auditors and special projects. Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient and effective operation of the function.<BR><BR>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:<BR><BR>*<BR>Prepare authoritative memorandums and other audit schedules required to substantiate the company''s position for revenue recognition in accordance with US GAAP.<BR><BR>*<BR>Establish, modify and maintain appropriate company revenue recognition policies, procedures and internal controls to ensure revenue and cost of sales are properly recorded and reported in accordance with US GAAP.<BR><BR>*<BR>Identify and articulate complex revenue accounting issues clearly and concisely, and prepare revenue recognition positions for internal and external auditor review.<BR><BR>*<BR>Monitor and review contracts for multiple element arrangements that will require an analysis to allocate arrangement consideration using the relative selling price method on a monthly basis.<BR><BR>*<BR>Perform annual VSOE analysis for hardware products.<BR><BR>*<BR>Perform inventory shipments cut-off testing and scoping on a monthly basis<BR><BR>*<BR>Ensure that hardware, implementation and installation revenue, unbilled A/R and deferred revenue are being closed timely and reconciled accurately to the Oracle General Ledger for US and Canada.<BR><BR> </font></td>
