               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Develop and administer environmental health and safety programs to ensure the University and employees comply with safety related laws and regulations as mandated by local, state and federal regulatory agencies. Manage employee Worker Compensation program in conjunction with the Universities third party administrator.<BR><BR>Essential Functions:<BR>Responsible for the development and implementation of training for the following environmental health and safety programs: fire prevention; hazardous communication/worker right-to-know; hazardous waste management; personal protective equipment, confined space, lock-out/tag-out; fall protection; blood borne pathogens; laboratory safety – chemical hygiene; asbestos awareness, forklift operator instructor; heat related illness/injury; air quality; general life safety; and other programs as required by local, state and federal regulatory agencies.<BR><BR>Responsible for managing and administering the light duty and return to work safety programs. Manages the worker’s compensation claims programs in conjunction with the contracted third party administrator.<BR>Coordinate cases requiring further or on-going formal accommodations with DREAM office. Communicates cases with HR to ensure accurate benefit and leave tracking occurs.<BR><BR>Responsible for managing the campus first aid kits, AED’s and first aid and AED training program.<BR><BR>Manages the ergonomics program, including performing ergonomic worksite analysis, purchasing products, and selecting the appropriate vendors for the program, and makes recommendations for budget management.<BR>Directs the activities of a hazardous waste disposal program. Advises departments on purchasing practices of hazardous waste. Acts as Emergency Plan Coordinator for hazardous chemical emergencies.<BR><BR>Oversees the radiation safety program in coordination with the Radiation Safety Officer. Duties include lab evaluation, inspection and proper signage.<BR><BR>Conducts inspections of campus facilities, and other safety inspections in support of environmental health and safety programs.<BR><BR>Consults with the Facilities, Planning and Construction Department on plans for new construction and renovation of existing facilities to ensure compliance with all environmental health and safety programs.<BR><BR>Investigates accidents or injuries on campus, or potential unsafe conditions in support of accident prevention and risk management programs.<BR><BR>Interacts with a broad segment of the University, and coordinates information and activities with outside agencies, such as WISHA, OSHA, The Department of Ecology, University contractors, third party Worker Compensation administrator, representatives and local fire officials in support of environmental health and safety programs.<BR><BR>FOR A FULL POSITION DESCRIPTION AND TO APPLY: please visit our website at www.gonzaga.peopleadmin.com and apply on-line.
