Responsible for the underwriting of Select Account endorsements, renewals and/or new business within delegated authority. Goals are focused on productivity, quality, agency service and timely response to agency requests and other key defined process measures. Business Center Underwriter operates within authority as delegated by the Business Center Underwriting Director.<BR><BR>PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<BR><BR>- Evaluate complex Select renewal and endorsement business to accept, modify, decline and price accounts. In addition, responsible for underwriting new business generated by the Business Center,<BR>- Follow Select-s Best Practices including Underwriting and workflow.<BR>- Ensure quality of underwriting and profitability through the application of the appropriate level of underwriting analysis based on risk complexity to accept decline, modify & price accounts.<BR>- Provide technical underwriting analysis and recommendations with other employees in the Select Underwriting Centers. Activities include underwriting renewals (Red Flag), mid-term policy endorsement activity (Service & USC) and review of agency issued new business accounts through the BIP review process. `<BR>- Identify and take corrective action and/or collaborate with the appropriate area within the organization (i.e. Audit, Billing, Claims & Underwriting Centers) based on individual risk characteristics of the situation.<BR>- Provide appropriate level of customer service support to agents, Underwriting Center staff and internal Business Center staff. This includes, but is not limited to automation support, policy services and communication of technical underwriting and product information.<BR>- Participate in projects/assignments which support policy service and production objectives with respect to sales, underwriting, retention and customer service goals.<BR>- Provide technical expertise in the delivery of underwriting training to new hires and existing staff. Conduct product and systems training for Business Center teams.<BR>- Assist NSC or book transfer specialists on certain new business functions or complex underwriting/pricing situations.<BR>- Maintain an understanding of Travelers products and solutions and initiate discussions with Underwriting Centers as appropriate.<BR><BR>COMPETENCIES:<BR><BR>- Business & Technical Knowledge:<BR>o Strong technical multi-line underwriting skills; strong knowledge of Property/Cas </font></td>
