We do business in over 130 countries and our annual revenues exceed $2.0 billion. We are currently seeking a Senior Intellectual Property Attorney to join our legal department.<BR><BR>The position shall be based at Liberty Lake, WA., our corporate headquarters.<BR><BR>Duties and Responsibilities<BR><BR>- New Patent Preparation and Prosecution, Office Action replies, and direct and review Foreign Associate replies<BR>- Harvest inventions from research and development teams located in US and international facilities<BR>- Manage pre-litigation and patent litigation activities<BR>- Develop and maintain company patent applications, trade secrets, trademarks and copyrights<BR>- Draft and review license agreements, development agreements and other IP oriented documents as well as intellectual property provisions contained in general commercial contracts and documents.<BR>- Prepare and manage the preparation of product clearance/right to practice opinions (and provide infringement and validity analysis) for Itron products and processes with respect to industry patents.<BR>- Monitor competitor IP activity and advise business on significant activity.<BR>- Evaluate IP diligence for potential acquisition targets.<BR>- Develop and implement ongoing education programs for senior management, business and R&D personnel to advise them on global intellectual property matters and IP related rule changes.<BR>- Implement and approve IP legal policies and procedures in accordance with the business needs and in conformity with corporate policies and procedures.<BR>- Work closely with the Associate General Counsel, IP and other Law Department members to provide quality legal services to Itron.<BR><BR>Qualifications<BR><BR>Experience:This position requires a minimum of two 2 years experience as a Patent Attorney admitted to practice in at least one state bar and registration with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and a minimum 12 years of total legal experience. Experience with major law firm and/or corporation as an attorney desired and substantial experience working in-house with large multinational US company strongly preferred.
