A forest products employer headquartered in Spokane and a leader in sustainable forestry with approximately 1.43 million acres, growing trees, selling timber, and manufacturing solid wood products since 1903 is recruiting for a Senior Tax Accountant. Duties will include researching, planning, and preparing or reviewing federal and state income, sales and use, and property tax returns, serve as a resource to interpret and advise corporate management on various tax matters, and reconcile general ledger accounts and assist with estimated tax payment calculations. JOB REQUIREMENTS: - Must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. - Must have a minimum of five (5) years of experience in public or private accounting in corporate income tax. - Must have good working knowledge of Federal and State tax statutes and regulations. - Must have advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint). - Must have working knowledge of tax preparation software. - Must have knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and financial accounting standards. Must be prepared and able to demonstrate the following qualifications at the time of referral: Must have proven ability to research and interpret tax law using applicable research tools, have strong verbal and writing skills to communicate with internal customers and taxing authorities, have strong analytical and organizational skills, and have the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred. HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE: Full time, Monday through Friday, normal business hours. Employer is located downtown on a bus line. SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS: Salary will be commensurate with skills and experience with an excellent benefit package to be discussed at the time of interview.
