<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">The main campus of Tacoma Community College is located on a 150 acre site upon which are located twenty-eight buildings with a composite area exceeding 484,000 square feet. The college also occupies one satellite campus requiring support and maintenance activities. In addition, the college owns equipment and vehicles necessary for the support of campus activities. This position is responsible for possessing the necessary skills for performing duties required to operate and maintain campus facilities and equipment in an efficient, safe, and satisfactory manner.<BR><BR>This position will perform skilled work in the operation, maintenance, repair, remodeling, and construction of buildings, grounds, machinery, facilities and equipment owned by the college. The focus of this position is to perform maintenance, operation, and repair of electrical, mechanical and structural systems of buildings and utility distribution. This position is responsible for providing the expertise necessary to maintain a satisfactory facility environment to support activities throughout the institution.<BR><BR>The responsibilities and activities described above are a portion of the duties assigned and are based on the needs and priorities established by the College. Therefore, variations to scheduled duties may occur at any time dependent upon specific circumstances and as directed by the Supervisor.<BR><BR>This position requires that the incumbent be available on a daily basis while classes are in session to respond to requirements involving the college’s electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems. <BR><BR>This position requires working in adverse weather conditions. Incumbent must be physically capable to lift weights in excess of fifty (50) pounds and be willing to work at heights above ten (10) feet and in closed quarters. The College’s electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and utility distribution equipment is often located at floor level, at ceiling level, underground, in ceiling crawl spaces, in manholes, and on roof tops, so incumbent will be expected to be physically able to gain access, transport tools and equipment, and perform work in these environments. Incumbent will be required to gain access and perform work by using ladders, crawling, bending over, stooping, twisting, lifting, and digging. <BR><BR>The incumbent must be familiar with standard personal safety requirements and equipment used in processes common to building maintenance work. The incumbent will be expected to use a wide range of hand and power tools, and operate industrial building maintenance machinery, and trucks.<BR><BR><BR>Qualifications: <BR><BR>•High school graduation or equivalent. <BR>•Four years of full time equivalent experience in building and equipment maintenance, or closely related field. <BR>•Valid Journey Level Electrician License. <BR>•Valid Class three Boiler Operators License or the ability to obtain within six months of employment.<BR>Conditions of Employment<BR>•Valid, unrestricted drivers license. <BR>•Successful completion of a criminal history background check prior to employment. <BR>•The physical ability to lift weights in excess of fifty (50) pounds and the ability to work at heights above (10) feet and in closed quarters/spaces. <BR>•The physical ability to gain access, transport tools and equipment and perform work in a variety of work spaces and environments such as crawl spaces, manholes, roof tops, HVAC units, underground, etc. requiring bending, crawling, stooping, twisting, lifting, digging, reaching, etc. in adverse conditions.<BR>•The physical ability to do the required work.</font></td>
