Simply follow the directions in the narrative below.</i></b><BR><BR>Tacoma lumber company has an immediate opening for a Sales Representative I sell the companyA?s products produced at their plants throughout Washington in a manner that returns maximum log value and provides order files necessary to ensure optimum operation of their four production facilities. The ideal candidate have a high level of integrity, strong communication skills, be team oriented and a be self motivated<BR><BR><b>JOB DESCRIPTION:</b><BR>* Responsible for the sale of all commodity lumber , with a minimum of supervision, for the companyA?s three mills in Washington State.<BR>* Responsible for committing to price specification sand shipping schedules, and the acceptance or rejection of orders based on their compatibility with production capabilities and broad marketing objectives. With the input and oversight form Level II Sales Representatives and/or the Director of Sales, negotiate prices in order to move volume and respond to significant market shifts.<BR>* Utilize a working knowledge of species, grades, production capabilities, customer base and individual customer characteristics, geographic market product preferences, modes of transportation (rail & truck), regional competitive factors (including alternative species), and compliance in making sale decisions.<BR>* Maintains a high level of awareness of traffic issues, including most cost effective transportation alternatives, by regularly consulting with the Traffic Department.<BR>* Thoroughly understand and utilize the Lumber Business System (LBS) as it relates to sales for all operations and support the transition to a new operating system<BR>* Participates in analyzing the sawmillA?s weekly forecast for production and determining the most saleable form in which the materials should be presented to the market in order to return highest possible value, and communicating to the mills regarding these determinations. This function includes maintenance of relative value length tables used to assure appropriate market pricing and support production emphasis of prim lumber lengths.<BR>* In conjunction with the Sales Manager, is responsible for preparation of a weekly internal price list, which reflects current market conditions and sales strategy along with projected mill production and inventory levels.<BR>* Development of new accounts is a responsibility shared with the Sales Manager.<BR>* Provide input to department plans and price forecasts<BR>* Prompt resolution of customer claims involving questions of tally, invoicing and quality.<BR><BR><b>HOURS/DAYS/SCHEDULE:</b><BR>Shifts: Day, M-F<BR><BR><b>JOB REQUIREMENTS:</b> <BR>* High school diploma or GED<BR>* Up to five (5) years experience in wood product sales<BR>* Must be proficient in MS Excel<BR><BR><b>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b> <BR>* BachelorA?s degree in Business Administration and/or Mathematics<BR>* Five (5) or more years experience in sawmill sales<BR>* Experience with Great Plains software<BR>* Experience with continuous/process improvement initiatives<BR><BR><b>SALARY/WAGE/BENEFITS:</b><BR>DOE/DOQ + benefits <BR><BR><b>Closing Date / Deadline:</b><BR>Open until filled<BR><BR><b>TO APPLY: <BR>To apply for this position, please copy and paste the website address below into your internet address bar and click "Go".
