You will be part of an organization that celebrates the diversity of our staff, students and families and strives to meet our mission to provide equal educational opportunities for all students. <BR><BR>ASSIGNMENT: The Spanish/English Bilingual Family Support Specialist I or II for the Early Head Start (EHS) program operates as part of the Teaching and Learning department. The EHS HOME-BASED program is for low-income infants, toddlers, pregnant women and their families. The program seeks to enhance children's physical, social, emotional, and intellectual development, assist pregnant women to access comprehensive prenatal and postpartum care, support parents' efforts to fulfill their parental roles, and help parents move toward self-sufficiency. While this position is based out of the ESD 112 Vancouver Campus, the Family Support Specialist I or II will travel daily to EHS family homes. Home visiting is a popular strategy for delivering Early Head Start services to expectant parents and families with infants and toddlers. This position is full-time, 40 hrs per week, 240 days/year. <BR><BR>POSITION: Reporting directly to the Early Learning Program Manager - Family Support, the Bilingual Family Support Specialist I or II provides support for program participants by identifying community resources and providing referrals and follow-up to meet family needs. The Specialist will visit participants in their homes, providing family support services, administer and evaluate developmental screenings, make appropriate referrals, and develop relationships with community partners.
