This is a long-term opportunity based out of Vancouver, WA.<BR>Position Overview:<BR>As part of the Civil Design work group, this position provides technical support in the design of assigned Civil Engineering projects to ensure conformance to all institutional regulations and Company standards. This support includes preparing or revising Engineering drawings and designs for Transmission Line access roads and substation capital improvements, as well as preparing design specifications for the construction or reconstruction of substations, access roads, bridges and culverts. Additionally, the Civil Engineering Technician assists other Engineers in field investigations, special studies, estimating projects, construction inspection, and specification development as needed.<BR>Duties and Responsibilities:<BR>The Civil Engineering Technician:<BR>* Provides technical support to Design Engineers, Project Managers and other Technicians. Gathers field information in the form of measurements and photos for various road, bridge, culvert, and site projects.<BR>* Designs construction and reconstruction of single lane aggregate roads, including hydraulic and fish passage culvert and bridge design, specifically site study, permit sketches, size, location/alignment, and performance requirements.<BR>* Performs Retaining Wall design. Prepares design documents for the Permitting process.<BR>* Completes and produces comprehensive final design packages for the repair and construction of access roads and repairs to the civil infrastructure of substations.<BR>* Ensures that the specifications are in accordance with policy and regulations, and are technically correct for bridge and culvert reconstruction and construction projects.<BR>* Manages, updates and revises Design and Engineering records; maintains data quality and prepares and verifies data models.<BR>* Develops, prepares, revises and distributes design drawings, Engineering technical documents and databases to support Civil Design projects or other assigned work on various computer platforms including MicroStation CAD and Esri.<BR>* Updates and maintains, as necessary, existing hard copy design drawings and converts existing hard copy drawings to electronic versions.<BR>* Organizes and analyzes drawings prior to setup and discusses project complexity and time estimates with technical and supervisory personnel.<BR>* Assists Supervisor with various administrative duties, such as Engineering records.<BR>This is an estimated one year PLUS contingent/temporary position in Vancouver, W </font></td>
