               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;"><b>JOB DESCRIPTION:  </b><BR>Historic Walla Walla Hotel and Convention Center seeks part-time Banquet Captain. The Banquet Captain takes the lead to assure smooth, efficient, setup of all banquet and meeting functions. This position requires hands-on activity and attention to detail. Specifically, the Banquet Captain will:<BR><li> Ensure proper service to clients during the function as needed</li><BR><li> Ensure proper cleaning and storage of all equipment after function is completed</li><BR><li> Build knowledge of the Hotel and the surrounding area</li><BR><li> Sit occasionally to complete paperwork</li><BR><li> Load carts and trays while serving food and beverages</li><BR><li> Participate in solving problems with other departments as required</li><BR><li> Maintain excellent communications with Front Office, Catering, and Sales</li><BR><li> Perform a combination of supportive functions as required by the Supervisor/Management</li><BR><BR><b>JOB REQUIREMENTS:</b><BR><li> Must be at least 21 years of age and hold current Alcohol Server's Class 13 permit</li><BR><li> Knowledge of banquet set-ups, policies and procedures</li><BR><li> Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, with tact and diplomacy to defuse intense emotion, collect accurate information and resolve conflicts</li><BR><li> Able to meet physical demands of duties: standing, walking constantly on various surfaces; Crouching occasionally, lifting trays cleaning shelves; Kneeling, crawling occasionally, cleaning or picking up debris; Twisting constantly, serving guests, monitoring banquet room activity, maneuvering through crowds and staff; climbing occasionally on stairs or stepladders; reaching overhead, (extension frequently) stocking supplies, carrying trays, serve at arms length extension, set up banquet tables; handling and grasping, and  frequently serving food</li><BR><li> Able to communicate effectively with co-workers and patrons in an English speaking environment</li><BR><li> Able to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance, to include no visible tatoos (specific standards available)</li><BR><li> Able to repeatedly lift 50 lbs</li><BR><li> Able to adhere to company safety standards and procedures</li><BR><li> Must be able to handle cleaning chemicals</li><BR><li> Must be able to operate equipment, tools, vehicles, chair carts, dance floor, staging</li><BR><BR><B>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</b><BR>Employer prefers applicants with at least one (1) year banquet setup/serving experience.<BR><BR><b>HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE:  </b>  <BR>Part-time, hours vary depending on events scheduled, includes days, nights and weekends. Due to cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.
