<td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;"><b> JOB DESCRIPTION: </b><BR>Part-time Bus Operator needed to work regular & on-call shifts. NO PREVIOUS COMMERCIAL DRIVING EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Applicant DOES NOT have to have Commercial Driver's License to apply! The successful candidate will:<BR><li> Work flexible hours, evenings & weekends</li><BR><li> Work independently, reporting to the Road Supervisors & Dispatcher</li><BR><li> Provide safe & efficient operation of passenger buses, vans & other agency vehicles</li><BR><li> Assist mobility-impaired passengers to and from destination</li><BR><li> Maneuver wheelchairs on and off vehicles and over terrain</li><BR><li> Conduct daily vehicle inspection and report any mechanical defects prior to operation</li><BR><li> Operate Mobile Data Computer and accurately complete required reports</li><BR><BR><b>JOB REQUIREMENTS: </b><BR><li> Six (6) or more YEARS licensed driving experience, with no more than one violation of any kind in the last five (5) years</li><BR><li> Must be willing to work flexible hours, evenings & weekends</li> <BR><li> Ability to obtain, within 14 days of employment, WA or OR Class-B CDL, with endorsement "P" and with airbrake restriction (K) removed (employer will provide training for CDL)</li><BR><li> Ability to read & interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions & procedure manuals </li><BR><li> Ability to write accident & incident reports </li><BR><li> Ability to communicate effectively in English language with passengers, employees & supervisor </li><BR><li> Ability to learn basic Spanish phrases </li><BR><li> Possess good PR skills, be highly motivated, dependable, friendly, & have demonstrated work experience where these skills were utilized </li><BR><li> No criminal convictions of any law involving physical molestation, abuse, injury, or neglect </li><BR><li> High school diploma or GED </li><BR><li> Must have active personal phone or pager to be contacted for on-call work </li><BR><BR>Applicants must successfully complete pre-employment tests. All persons selected for this position must successfully pass a Department of Transportation physical, including a DRUG & ALCOHOL screen & tuberculosis skin test. Must complete a six-week new-operator-training program. Periodic DRUG & ALCOHOL tests will be conducted throughout employment. Criminal background check will be conducted. <BR><BR><B>HOURS / DAYS / SCHEDULE: </b> <BR>Job typically averages 20-24 hours per week (after training), but there is NO GUARANTEE of hours. Shifts include early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays, community special events & emergencies. Must be available to work 4:45 a.m. through 11:45 p.m., ALL 7 DAYS & ALL 7 NIGHTS of the week. Part-time operators bid available work BY SENIORITY.<BR><BR><b>SALARY / WAGE / BENEFITS: </b> <BR>Employees working in this job classification are represented by the Amalgamated Transit Union and are subject to agency shop rules. The pay scale for this position ranges from $15.90 to $21.30 per hour. Pro-rated vacation and sick leave hours are provided. Contributions are made each pay period to the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
