               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">The Technology Application Development Engineer explores and quantifies the use of existing sorting platforms and camera and laser technologies for new market applications, as well as defines sensor requirements to improve performance for existing and new market applications as directed by Marketing.   <BR><BR><b>Responsibilities</b> <BR>The main responsibilities of the Application Engineer are to: <BR>• Maintain a list and prioritize methodically the development of application solutions in alignment with marketing priorities;<BR>• Characterize the performance of technologies for specific applications;<BR>• Collect, define, and maintain application requirements; <BR>• Identify and define candidate sensor configurations (backgrounds, cameras, laser)  and related parameters to satisfy the application solution;<BR>• Design and drive development of test mules/prototypes for DOE experiments;<BR>• Conduct DOE experiments and develop application solutions that meet market requirements; <BR>• Prepare deliverables to support the deployment of the solution such as application guides and test plans;<BR>• Provide continuity during the transition from one development stage to the next;<BR>• Prepare deployment and post deployment plans to support the conversion and deployment of the solution.<BR><BR><b>Key Role Interactions</b> <BR>The Application Development Engineer has key interactions with the following roles. <BR>• Product Managers. Defines opportunities and guides applications to study <BR>• Development Engineers. Develops application solutions to meet the markets needs.<BR>• Sales Applications Engineers. Develops Keyware and machine set-ups to meet customer needs<BR>• Software Engineers. Develops software and hardware to utilize detection technologies for sorting leveraging current and new algorithm base.<BR><BR><b>Professional Skills</b> <BR>Ability to: <BR>• Apply fundamental knowledge of camera and laser properties and technologies to discriminate food product characteristics;<BR>• Empirically quantify detector capability<BR>• Empirically quantify system capability for use on new applications;<BR>• Keep current with latest laser scattering developments and sensor technologies in the industry ;<BR>• Empirically quantify detector systems capability and component contributions;<BR>• Good communication skills both verbal and written;<BR>• Work congenially with a diverse work force.  <BR><BR><b>Requirements:</b><BR>The ideal candidate would have a minimum of a BS Degree in Systems or Optical Engineering.  Advanced degree, a plus.  Must have extensive experience in Design of Experiments (DOE) analysis methodology; Laser and camera and other electromagnetic detectors. The optimal candidate would have an additional 3-5 years of food industry experience; experience in food product chemical composition and machine vision algorithms.</font></td>
