               <td align="left"><font style="font-size: 100%;">Peer Support Specialist<BR><BR>REPORTS TO: Program Manager<BR>SALARY GRADE: Non-Exempt<BR>SUPERVISES: 0<BR><BR>POSITION SUMMARY:<BR><BR>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<BR>• Documents services and progress notes<BR>• Follows goals according to the Individual Treatment/Service Plan<BR>• Ability to submit accurate billing data according to the program requirements<BR>• At minimum, consumer visits once per month and limited to four (4) hours per day, per consumer<BR>• Seeks regular supervision from a mental health professional or group supervision with a qualified supervisor/consultant<BR>• Services may include, but not limited to, facilitating self-help groups, telephone support lines, drop-in centers, and other case management tasks as needed<BR>• Provides peer support at CHSW offices, schools, consumer’s homes and/or in the community at locations where consumers are known to gather, such as shelters, parks, community centers<BR>• Facilitates and coordinates a wide range of scheduled activities to assist consumers in exercising control over their own lives and recovery process for themselves and/or their child/adolescent (e.g. to promote socialization, self-advocacy, development of natural supports, and maintenance of community living skills)<BR>• Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor<BR><BR><BR>MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:<BR>• Be a self-identified consumer of mental health services and/or the parent/caregiver of a child/adolescent who has received mental health services<BR>• Certification from the WA State Department of Behavioral Health and Recovery (DBHR) to provide peer support services that includes taking a 30-hr training and passing examination from DBHR<BR>• Current WA Counselor Registration<BR>• An understanding of the recovery process for mental health and chemical dependency<BR>• Must successfully pass a criminal history background check and be capable of obtaining jail clearance<BR>• Ability to work with diverse populations who vary significantly, including social status, age, education, race, ethnicity, gender, and sexual orientation<BR>• Ability to work as part of a team to help consumers achieve their goals<BR>• An understanding of local community services<BR>• Ability to establish and maintain relationships with community agencies and service providers<BR>• Excellent written and oral communication skills<BR>• Proficient in MS Word and Outlook</font></td>
