Minimum of 1 year acute care experience preferred.<BR>2. All Special Care Nursery Registered Nurses must be certified in NRP upon hire or within four months following date of hire.<BR>3. Must possess basic computer skills related to Windows navigation, mouse usage, keyboarding, email communication and password management.<BR><BR>PROFESSIONAL EXPECTATIONS:<BR>1. A formal orientation program shall be required of all professional personnel who provide patient care in the Special Care Nursery.<BR>2. All Special Care Nursery registered nurses will be trained in techniques of special care nursery care, and the use of all special equipment in the department.<BR>3. All personnel must be certified annually in BLS/CPR by American Heart Association of Washington guidelines.<BR>4. All Special Care Nursery registered nurses will attend and pass the STABLE course every 2 years.<BR>5. All Special Care Nursery registered nurses will annually participate in<?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />OBunit skills day.<BR>6. Annually, selected special care nursery skills will be competency-verified.<BR>7. All Special Care Nursery registered nurses will be knowledgeable about the department?s Standards of Care & Practice and able to function at a level assuring delivery of those standards.<BR><BR>GENERAL FUNCTION:<BR><BR>The Special Care Nursery Nurse is a staff nurse responsible for assessing, planning, organizing and directing activities in special care nursery and nursery setting. </font></td>
