This position is located within Primary Care Service at the Martinsburg VA Medical Center. The VA Medical Center is located in the heart of West Virginia's Eastern Panhandle on 175 acres in historic Berkeley County. The Medical Center offers a comprehensive range of services, including internal medicine, ambulatory surgery, audiology and speech pathology, dental, nursing home, nutrition, podiatry, prosthetics, women's health, mental health, and rehabilitation medicine. Patient Care is provided through an integrated primary care concept, and each veteran is assigned to a team of health care providers who follow the patient's care both as an inpatient and an outpatient. The Medical Center has a service area of nearly 130,000 veterans in West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

It is the mission of the Martinsburg VAMC to honor America's veterans by providing exceptional health care that improves their health and well-being. Medical Center employees are dedicated to improving the quality of life for eligible veterans through excellent health care. The Medical Center operates seven VA-staffed Outpatient Clinics in Cumberland, Hagerstown and Frederick, Maryland, Stephens City and Harrisonburg, Virginia and Franklin and Petersburg, West Virginia. Primary Care and Mental Health care are provided at the CBOCs.

 

Note: The full performance level of this vacancy is a GS-5.  The actual grade at which an applicant may be selected for this vacancy is a GS-5.  The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidate's education and experience and recommend the grade and step at which the candidate will be placed.  The salary is based on the grade and step approved for the selected candidate.
