The Seasonal Recruitment Operations Center is currently accepting applications to fill up to 1 temporary positions at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore. Appointments made under this announcement are limited to 1039 hours (six months) in a service year and may be terminated at any time. Appointments under this announcement are eligible for rehire and/or extension (when initial appointment is less than 1039 hours) if workload and funding allow. Individuals selected under this vacancy announcement are eligible for rehire in subsequent service years.  Anticipated Entry on Duty: May, 2014

AREA INFORMATION: Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is located in rural Northern Wisconsin approximately 75 miles east of Duluth, Minnesota.  School grades K-12 are located in Bayfield, Washburn (12 miles) and Ashland (26 miles). A hospital and other medical facilities are available in the Ashland area. Rental housing is scarce. A limited amount of government supplied trailer pads or dormitory style rentals may be available. Moderate priced homes are available in Washburn and Ashland. Temperatures range from mid 80's in the summer to sub-zero in the winter. Summer and winter recreation activities are numerous.

This announcement is being advertised under delegated examining procedures and is open to all U.S. citizens.

This announcement may be used to fill additional positions if identical vacancies occur within 90 days of the issue date of the referral certificate.
