About the Position:

The Channels & Harbors Project Office has a staff of approximately 14 and is responsible for managing the channel maintenance program for the St. Paul District 9-foot navigation projects and authorized harbors. This involves 284 miles of navigation channels and 18 harbors on the Upper Mississippi River System and Lake of the Woods in northern Minnesota. The incumbent will work on teams of 2-4 persons on a variety of projects.

Fountain City, Wisconsin on the Mississippi River is about 110 miles south of St. Paul’s District headquarters. Nestled in the bluffs along the Mississippi River, Fountain City is the oldest settlement in Buffalo County. Rich in natural and historical beauty, this small river-town community is proud of its miles of memories and unique attractions. The panoramic view of Fountain City is highlighted by Eagle Bluff, which stands 550 feet above the river, the highest point on the Mississippi. Whether on scenic Highway 35, internationally recognized as "The Great River Road," or vacationing along the Mississippi River, visitors & residents alike can experience a diversity of multi-seasonal activities.
