JOB SUMMARY:
We are looking for an IT Support Specialist to support mine IT requirements including desktop and server support, end-user application troubleshooting and development, and IT systems coordination with corporate IT group.Responsibilities of this position include: Provide independent support of computer hardware, PC builds, software and peripherals, servers and manage technology obsolescence for mining clients. Provide first and second tier support to troubleshoot hardware, software, phone, connectivity, application issues and provide daily operations support as needed. Support data and communication networks, including wiring and related software/hardware upgrades, modifications, replacements and troubleshooting in coordination with corporate IT. Evaluate, install, design, develop, test, upgrade, troubleshoot and maintain programs and operating systems for the mine business and operations applications and internal/corporate communications systems. Act as a liaison between corporate IT and the mine to ensure that mine operating priorities and necessities are communicated and considered in decision making processes. Analyze systems and recommend solutions utilizing new technologies and system solutions for meeting business needs. Position is located in Point of Rocks, WY. Local applicants preferred. 6 month contract. Required Skills: A minimum of two years of verifiable experience and hands-on desktop or user support role, working in an enterprise class environment with personal computers, laptops, file servers. Technical skills including hardware and software installation, configuration, troubleshooting and support. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for consulting with users to understand needs, define requirements, and provide effective solutions. Knowledge of current technologies, tools, applications, and vendors. Ability to provide input and recommendations regarding new technologies and system solutions for meeting business needs.Preferred Skills: Knowledge of Client Server procedures relative to building, deploying and disposal of PC assets. Knowledge of software deployment strategies. Experience with installation and configuration of complicated professional software packages complete with understand of licensing procedures. Basic Network administrations skills. ( i.e. wiring and termination of Cat5e or higher cable, network interface configurations et c)
