This vacancy is being advertised under delegated examining procedures.

This is a Term position. Appointment to this position will not convey permanent status in the Federal service and will be for a period not to exceed 13 months with possible extensions (generally in 1-year increments) up to a total of 4 years maximum without further competition. Work schedule will be fulltime, 40 hours per week, year-round.

Area Information:
 
Devils Tower NM is our nation's first national monument. Located in northeast Wyoming, it was set aside to preserve the 867 foot column of igneous rock along with prehistoric/historic cultural resources, and the plants and animal life of the area. Park size is 1,347 acres with an elevation of about 3,800 feet. The climate is usually mild and typical of the Black Hills region. High temperatures can range from the mid-90's in the summer to the 50's in the spring and fall. Winter temps range from 35 to sub-zero degrees. The three closest communities, Hulett (9 miles), Sundance (28 miles), and Moorcroft (30 miles) have basic services. The larger communities of Spearfish, SD, and Gillette, WY, are approximately 1 hour away with many services available.

• Travel and some relocation expenses associated with reporting for duty in this position will be paid by the National Park Service for current permanent and term Federal employees. However, the government will not provide the services of a third party contractor for the guaranteed home sale program (FAM 2008-017).
