The Missle Defense Agency's (MDA) mission is to develop, test, and field an integrated, layered, ballistic missle defense system (BMDS) to defend the United States, its deployed forces, allies, and friends against all ranges of enemy ballistic missles in all phases of flight.

This is the advanced trainee level in a Career Development Program position leading to the target position of Human Resources Specialist, GS-201-11.  The incumbent receives a wide-range of training through rotational assignments, formal training courses, and on-the-job experience in the various functional areas of the human resources. 

Please note that as of 9/10/12 the correct beginning salary in Huntsville, AL for a GS-7 is $39,422 and the ending salary at the promotion potential to a GS-11 is $75,843.
