Position Summary: The incumbent of this position practices as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the Primary Care Clinic. The clinic provides outpatient primary care services to Veteran patients who present with urgent and chronic medical conditions, change in mental health status, and/or functional decline. The LPN has knowledge and skills necessary for concentrated effort and self-direction in carrying out the most complex practical nursing care assignments, including assignments for selected acute care, long-term care, ambulatory care, or psychiatric patients requiring skilled nursing care.

NOTE: The full performance level of this vacancy is GS-06. The actual grade at which an applicant may be selected for this vacancy is GS-04 to GS-06. The Professional Standards Board (a peer-review group) will review the selected candidate’s qualifications and recommend the grade and step at which the candidate will be placed. The salary is based on the grade and step for the selected candidate.
