The National Incident Management Assistance Teams (IMAT) rapidly deploy to assist State and Local officials in managing large-scale, all-hazards (natural and man-made including Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear and Explosive) Incidents. The National Response Coordination Center (NRCC) deploys the National IMAT's in coordination with FEMA Regional Administrators. The IMAT oversees the integration of required Federal Assistance, to include providing life saving and life sustaining capabilities.

This position is ideal for an emergency management leader looking for an opportunity to serve as an Operations Branch Director responsible for providing expertise at all levels of incidents and planned events.  This position starts at a salary of $87,586 per annum at the (GS-13) level.   Apply for this exciting opportunity to become a member of the National Incident Management Assistance Team (IMAT), Operations Division, Response Directorate, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS) located in Sacramento, CA.

PROMOTION POTENTIAL: Future promotions will be dependent on your ability to perform the duties at a higher level, the continuing need for an employee assigned to the higher level, and administrative approval.

EMERGENCY ASSIGNMENT:  For all nonbargaining unit positions, the following applies:  Every FEMA employee has regular and recurring emergency management responsibilities, though not every position requires routine deployment to disaster sites.  All positions are subject to recall around the clock for emergency management operations, which may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee's official position description. Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:
