The Washington, DC VA Medical Center, is seeking a full-time Physician in the Surgical Service Department. The DC VAMC is one of the most visible and dynamic facilities in the VA system. This tertiary care teaching facility provides acute general and specialized services in medical, neurology, psychiatry as well as offering a nursing home care unit. The medical center also oversees a satellite Substance Abuse Clinic and three Veterans Centers.
The Medical Center's staff of over 2,000 provides care to veterans residing in the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia treating over 50,000 veterans and over 500,000 outpatient visits each year. The DC VAMC is affiliated with four medical centers: The George Washington University, Georgetown University, Howard University and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences and many other colleges and universities in the following areas: pharmacy, rehabilitation medicine, biomedical engineering, dietetics, social work, nursing and medical center management.
