The Marion, Illinois VA Medical Center is seeking a full-time, Nurse Practitioner to join our Primary Care Service as the Compensation and Pension Examination Program Coordinator. The incumbent will provide leadership in the application of the compensation and pension examination to patient care, organizational processes and/or systems improving outcomes. The incumbent will spend approximately 60% of the time in direct patient care for completion of requested exams and be responsive to parameters of program timeliness and compliance to standards with adjustments in scheduling made accordingly. The incumbent will serve as the contact person for the Marion, IL VA Medical Center when training and techniques for teamwork are needed. The incumbent will be responsible for working with Quality Management staff, health administration service, and as applicable, the Veterans Affairs Regional Office (VARO) to address any problems that arise and will meet the challenge head on to plan and implement necessary changes. The incumbent will maintain direct contact with the CPEP office and obtain necessary education and training to become highly skilled in the complexity and comprehensive C&P exams. The Compensation and Pension Examination Program Coordinator is directly accountable to the Chief of Primary Care and will report to the Business and Operations Executive Board.
