JOB SUMMARY:

Civilian employees serve a vital role in supporting the Army mission.  They provide the skills that are not readily available in the military, but crucial to support military operations.  The Army integrates the talents and skills of its military and civilian members to form a Total Army.

About the Position:

 

Serves as Contract Specialist in the Contracting Division at the Rock Island District, Corps of Engineers, Rock Island, IL.  The position will be filled as either developmental GS-09 with promotion potential to GS-11; or at the full performance GS-11 level.

 

The position is located in the Rock Island District Headquarters which is in the Clock Tower Building on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, Illinois.  Rock Island is part of a metropolitan area known as the Quad-Cities.  The Quad-Cities rests on the banks of the Mississippi River and has a total population of 400,000.  The Quad-Cities is comprised of the cities of Rock Island and Moline/East Moline in Illinois, and Davenport and Bettendorf in Iowa.
