WHAT DOES A POLICY AND PLANNING INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST DO?
As an Information Technology (IT) Specialist (Policy and Planning) you will serve as an expert in IRS IT planning and policy concepts, principles and methods. In this position, you will operate as a project leader whose authority and scope of responsibility crosses organizational and geographic lines by leading major national level projects such as the application and adaptation of new and improved approaches to strategic planning, capital planning and investment control, workforce planning, policy and standards development, resource and knowledge management, architecture and infrastructure planning and management, auditing, and information security management. You will also develop guidelines that will be used by other specialists and which have an impact on broad agency goals.
