MICHIGAN NATIONAL GUARD

TECHNICIAN VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT

EXCEPTED APPOINTMENT- PERMANENT

Acceptance of a technician position will result in termination of selected reserve bonuses

Veteran's preference does not apply to positions in this agency.

 

MEMBERSHIP IN THE NATIONAL GUARD IS REQUIRED: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Michigan National Guard. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted position constitutes concurrence with these requirements as a condition of employment. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Michigan National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the military grade listed in this announcement

 

AREAS OF CONSIDERATION:

AREA 1 - Open to on-board permanent technicians of the Michigan Air National Guard or Michigan Army National Guard (TENURE I or II Status).

AREA 2 - Open to current members of the Michigan Air National Guard or Michigan Army National Guard.

 

AREAS OF PRIORITY:

In accordance with the Michigan National Guard Merit Placement Regulation 690-335 and applicable union contract procedures applicants will be forwarded to the selecting official to conduct interviews by area of priority listed

 

AREA 1 - Open to on-board permanent technicians of the Michigan Air National Guard or Michigan Army National Guard (TENURE I or II Status).

 

AREA 2 - Open to current members of the Michigan Air National Guard or Michigan Army National Guard and those eligible for enlistment/commission in the Michigan Air National Guard or Michigan Army National Guard.

 

COMPATIBLE MILITARY ASSIGNMENT: 43XEB, 4B0X1

Selectee Must be assigned to a compatible AFSC within 12 months of appointment into the technician position and maintain satisfactory membership in the Michigan National Guard.

 

MILITARY GRADE: O-1(2LT) TO O-5(Lt COL)

Grade inversion within the full time workforce in not permitted. The military grade must not exceed that of the supervisor.

Members applying for this position and exceeding the maximum military grade listed on this job announcement MUST submit a statement in writing that they are willing to take an administrative reduction in grade to the advertised military grade on the job announcement for which applying. Applicants who exceed the military grade will NOT be placed into the technician position until they have been administratively reduced to the military grade on the job announcement.
