The Kansas City VAMC is currently seeking a full time nurse practitioner for the Cardiology Service. The Cardiology Nurse Practitioner (NP) is responsible for the coordination of care of cardiology patients and consultation. The NP will work closely with assigned specialty service(s) patients to assess, coordinate and provide direct care in collaboration with providers and team members.
This announcement is open until filled. First referrals will be made after May 8, 2012. Additional referrals will be made as necessary after that date until position is filled.

The Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center is a tertiary care facility and is classified as a Clinical Referral Level I Facility. It is a teaching hospital providing a full range of patient services, with state-of-the-art technology as well as education and research. Clinical privileges must be recommended by the Chief, Staff/Professional Standards Board and granted by the Director of Kansas City VAMC. The provider must provide complete credentialing and privileging information in a timely, expeditious way to the Credentialing Office. Employment is contingent on the ability of the provider to be credentialed by the VA Credentialing Office.
First area of consideration will be given to permanent Kansas City VAMC employees. Internal and External Candidates will be considered.
