There is currently a vacancy for a full-time Registered Nurse as part of the Transition Team.   This is multidisciplinary team of  professionals who integrate, coordinate and facilitate the delivery of quality, cost-effective health care for the veteran utilizing a network of services, to include discharge planning and community services/follow up care.  The nurse uses effective communication skills with patients, significant others, and all customers, internal and external to KCVA-MC.  All communication is courteous, therapeutic, compassionate and professional. The tour of duty is 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday.  This position reports to the Transition Team Supervisor.

This announcement is open until filled.  The first  referral of qualified applicants will be made after October 1, 2012.  Additional referrals will be made after that date until the position is filled.  Applicants who applied to previous announcements for the transition team must reapply to be considered for this vacancy. 

First area of consideration will be given to permanent Kansas city VAMC employees.  Internal and External Candidates will be considered.   This announcement may be used to fill identical positions vacated within 6 months of any selections made from the original announcement.

 Salary and grade will be determined upon qualifications and experience.
