Every day, our Operations Support Specialists provide a variety of management services essential to the direction and operation of USCIS; assist management in administering policies and procedures, and provide advice, guidance and instruction to managers, supervisors and employees concerning all administrative programs that include complex and sensitive issues.

 

This position of OPERATIONS SUPPORT SPECIALIST starts at a salary of $57,408.00 (GS-11 step 1), with promotion potential to $89,450.00 (GS-12 step 10). Apply for this exciting opportunity to become a member of the National Benefits Center, Lee's Summit, MO within DHS US Citizenship and Immigration Services.

THIS IS A TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT NOT TO EXCEED (1) ONE YEAR BUT MAY BE EXTENDED FOR AN ADDITIONAL YEAR UP TO A TOTAL OF (4) FOUR YEARS.  SELECTEE(S) MAY BE CONVERTED WITHOUT FURTHER COMPETITION, IF THE POSITION BECOMES PERMANENT.  SELECTEES WHO ARE NOT CONVERTED TO PERMANENT POSITIONS WILL RETURN TO THEIR FORMER POSITION OF RECORD OR LIKE POSITION, AFTER COMPLETION OF THE TEMPORARY ASSIGNMENT. THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION THAT MAY BE TERMINATED AT ANY TIME.

USCIS will not pay your relocation expenses.
These positions are in the bargaining unit.
These positions are not considered "essential" for purposes of reporting to work when the facility might otherwise be closed.

Relocation expenses are authorized if you are assigned to the RAIO program and have been approved for rotation from an overseas assignment. Relocation expenses for employees assigned to an OCONUS location will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
