WORK SCHEDULE: The normal tour of duty is Monday through Friday, day shift with the expectation that each surgeon will participate in on-call coverage. Vacancy Identification Number (VIN): 718615

The VA Medical Center located in Albany, New York is seeking One (1.0) Permanent Full-Time Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon to assume a staff position.  The Albany VAMC serves veterans with diverse surgical needs for the Eastern portion of the state.  We are seeking candidates with excellent clinical skills and experience in the full range of general orthopedic care.  Additional interest, experience, and/or specialized fellowship training in either upper extremity problems or similar interest, experience and specialized training in ankle and foot problems is highly desirable.  General Orthopedic surgeons or those with specialty interests will be considered.  All candidates must have strong clinical, leadership, and communication skills with a commitment to academics.   Ideal candidates will have a record of successful practice management, excellent clinical and surgical skills in an academic setting, and significant achievement in basic or clinical research.  Competitive salary and benefits.
